My own Tall Tales

There comes a time when you feel you must tell some exagerated stories - stories in which you play an important role about which others know only a little. For me, that time has come, and I turn story-teller I leave decide how much each is true - you be the JUDGE!

I start with "MGS, Schoolys and Diyatalawa" because that was where I began in the Navy. It is also the story of Training in the R.Cy.N

"TAFII and the Navy" is an attempt to show how the Navy acted in that operation

"The Far Eastern Cruise" is how I saw the Navy at its worst and why the Navy was punished beyond reasonable limits

"Drama on stage" is a true story of how I almost brought the house down

"An urge to merge" is a little known story of how the Nation toyed with merging Army. Navy and Air Force into one

"We lose our Crown" is about how the Royal Ceylon Navy" became the "Sri Lanka Navy"

"Advanement by roster" is about how I created an Advancement Roster for the Navy

"Badges, Flags, Ranks and Uniforms" describes how I worked with an Admiral to make major changes in the Navy

"Writing Navy Orders" is about a task entrusted to me 12 years after I had reired

and

"Canon and the Dockyard" is something for you to think about.
